Fishing continues to be consistent with many anglers having success with dry flies and emergers. The lake is teaming with natural fly life such as daddies, mayfly and blue damsel and the weather has been wonderful to enjoy some good sport. We are very much aware that the lake is lower than we would like. As many of you know, we close every year in July and August and because of the lower water level, we were debating closing a month earlier. After consulting with many of our regulars, they have encouraged us to remain open as usual as fishing is still good and June is usually the best month of the year. The lake is still very well stocked and the average water level is approximately 14 feet. We have taken pictures today for you to see and that way you can decide if you would still like to visit or not. We cannot reduce the price of the tickets as our prices have remained unchanged since April 2018 and it is still very good value for money. We understand the conditions may make it difficult for some and we totally understand if you chose not to come until the problem is resolved. We have tried several methods to find and repair the leak over the past several months but it seems only inevitable that we will need to drain the lake to find it and will use our summer closing to do so. As you can appreciate this is very disappointing for us but we appreciate all of the support and kindness from the very special community of fisherman at Blackdyke. We continue to strive to provide the best experience possible so thank you in advance for your understanding and if you can manage, we look forward to seeing you through the course of June.
