Mixed results this week and although numbers coming out right now are not huge it really did depend on the day even though we restocked on May 5th. Some of the patterns that have worked this week are daddies, top hat buzzers along with other suspended buzzers and emergers. Hawthorns have just started to be effective too as well as black beetles on the surface. Mayfly are hatching around the lake and although a few have caught with them we are expecting a lot more action with those patterns soon. Buzzers and bloodworm still have had their moments even though most of the fish have been taken right off the surface or just below. Saturday we were thrilled to host a charity event organised by the wonderful Stephen Lambert and Steven Coots. The event raised £1300 for East Anglia Childrens Hospices and volunteer, John Skoyles was there to receive the funds and give a chat about the exemplary work this charity does. The winner of the event was Richard Ly and runner up, George Collins. A very special thank you to all who participated and also those who did not attend but gave a donation. It was an excellent day despite fishing being tough.
