The last seven days saw more wonderful sport with most of the fish caught on top of the water or just a little way down. You could catch fish most of the week with buzzers and nymphs and the odd bloodworm but your best bet on most days was still dries and emergers. The fish were usually not too far out and when they decided to feed the takes could be aggressive and often. The main change in the last week was the amount of mayfly on the water. Using that pattern or similar you could have a fun day, easily missing as many as you caught. Some of the other flies that could get the job done were foam daddies, hoppers, hawthorns, klinks and many other black and brown dries.
The Mayfly are not going to be around for long so come and enjoy it while it lasts.
