Fishing Report

Although it wasn't easy catching fish last week, it was definitely an improvement on the week before and it is looking promising for the week ahead. The last seven days saw the fish active in all parts of the lake and alot of the time not more than 4 feet down. It was still very much easier to catch them on the east bank but the boats also did well in the middle and a few were tempted to chase slowly stripped lures in most other areas if anglers were patient and put the work in. The south bank has been by far the hardest bank to catch fish. Even though you could often see them close in, it was sometimes near impossible to figure out what they were after, with only a couple being taken with fabs and buzzers. The most effective lures this week were damsels, cats whiskers and snakes and these were most effective with quite a slow retrieve.

Buzzers, nymphs, eggs and blobs still seemed to be your best bet, suspended a few feet down and fished static.

In the picture is Mike Wise aka wise Mike who on his seventh visit managed to catch his first and you can see the joy on his face.
