The last seven days saw many fish landed and a few anglers catching double figures after a healthy restock on Monday. Nearly all of the fish were caught on the right side of the lake near the jetty and the aerator as many of the more established ones have been hanging out there for some time. The rainbows stocked at the beginning of the week took almost the whole week to settle in with only a few being caught towards the weekend. The good news is that the fish are definitely starting to spread out and there are some signs that they are willing to chase the odd lure with one or two being caught with damsels, cats and black and white snakes.
Most of the jetty fish have been caught with nymphs, buzzers and egg patterns under an indicator but they really were not too fussy.
It was good to see a few new faces at the lake last week enjoying the mild weather. The picture is of Tom Burns on his first time at Blackdyke with one that he landed with a damsel on the tougher left bank. We are open Monday to Sunday 9am to dusk.
