Fishing Report

Week ending 10/03/24

A good number of visitors at the lake last week and most went home with smiles on their faces after some terrific sport. Large numbers came out in the last seven days and a good percentage of them were caught from the southern banks, especially the southwest corner. Vaidas Juska cleaned up in that spot catching 25 rainbows over two days all on blue flash damsels. Quite a few others were into double figures last week also. Mick Carpenter had 11. Gordon Curtis had 12 and Martin Smith had 21, all on a combination of bloodworm and buzzers. Some more of the bigger fish were also caught last week which is promising and we are now hoping it won't be long before the browns show their faces. Other flies that worked well during last week were cats whiskers, pitsford peas and yellow dancers.

All in all, a fantastic seven days of fishing and there is a definite sense that it's improving week on week.
