Fishing Report

Week ending 04/02/24

After the very high numbers of trout caught the previous week, fishing last week settled down a bit. It saw most visitors catching with only a very few blanks and the majority doing so with damsels, cats, snakes (especially pink), nymphs and buzzers.

Red apps and blobs also worked but it often seemed as if the anglers who were thinking outside of the box were the ones who caught more. A good example of this was James Bachini who managed eight rainbows mostly with a buzzer right on the floor on an intermediate line.  Along with his fish, he said he caught plenty of mussels and the odd shrimp.

Fishing last week was pretty consistent around the lake even car park corner has shown signs of picking up which has been very slow for the last three or four months.

On Saturday we had a party of five taking a group beginners lesson. Pictured is of a very happy Jack Barnard who caught off the beach with an orange foam daddy right off the top very close in.  See our facebook post for other pics.
