Fishing in the last seven days has been a real treat. There was steady sport during the first five days followed by a fantastic weekend when the the fish couldn't have been more up for it.
During the week the fish were taking plenty of buzzers, nymphs and apps along with the usual lures but mainly damsels. Then on the weekend the imposter fly took thirteen, apps still caught well as did eggs and blobs. The real star of the show though was the shammy. Jake Wenman caught fifteen in no time at all and then got other anglers on the shammy with the same results. Clive Taylor managed ten with eggs and blobs and Jack Roden had sixteen on a combination of apps bloodworm, eggs and a shammy. The majority of the fish were caught from the top half of the lake but all of the lake is now fishing well and they are still not very far out. Fishing is still improving week on week and we are being spoiled with great weather for the time of year so let's hope it continues. Additional pics in our newsletter and facebook page.
