For most of last week we saw bright crisp days and some fantastic fishing. As the week went on, the weather got colder and more challenging but the fishing remained consistently good. The anglers that braved the conditions were rewarded with good sport and plenty of hard fighting fish. The fish mostly stayed quite high in the water taking apps bloodworm and nymphs such as a hares ear or diawl bachs in the top four feet. Also last week static lures under an indicator worked well as it did the week before. There wasn't as much action on the top last week with the bright conditions possibly sending them down a little with just the odd one coming up to take something hanging just below the surface. Cats whiskers worked extremely well at times as well as the blue flash damsel sometimes retrieved slowly and sometimes static. The weekend saw the coldest temperatures and casting being the biggest problem with frozen rod rings. Luckily having something under a bung was probably your best bet so if you could manage to keep yourself warm you could still catch fish. Hopefully the weather improves a little soon so we can get back out there. Looking forward to hosting the fun fishing day on Saturday the 17th- still a few places left so contact Dean on 07525730447 to book. Picture Mark Newton.
